Riplee_Chapter2
One thing within this chapter that intrigued me was the talking of antagonist and protagonist. In middle school English class I remember having to repeat back to the teacher that protagonist means good guy and antagonist means bad guy. That's how I have always pictured it. I love how this has widen my perspective, protagonist is whoever we the audience are rooting for and wanting to "win" while are antagonist will be the person that keeps getting in the way or our rooting man even if they are the "good guys".
Now the video above it is very simple and basic, but isn't that best ways to have it sometimes is just plain as day right in front of our eyes what they are talking about. It gives us the basic outline of protagonist and antagonist. Protagonist is the main character, so who our film would follow and tell us about mostly. Antagonist is the "villain" but not always our typical description of a villain. It'll always be the villain of our main character its what they would describe a villain to be even if it was say the cops trying to stop some criminals, they are preventing the protagonist from reaching their goals through out the story. Again, yes I know such a simple way to put it but this is a simple concept that I feel many could get wrong when trying to show their story play out in film.
