Mylesiah_Chapter3
While reading chapter 3, I have learned the many rules of composition when it comes to filmmaking. One of the composition rules involving the Rule of Thirds that stood out to me the most was the Eyes section. The author states, "In order for us to connect with your characters on an emotional level, we must be able to see their eyes." Which I firmly agree with. Being able to see the characters eyes allows the audience to see the characters emotion and expressions and helps them grasp the storyline better in my opinion.
The article I choose best describes the importance of creating a connection with the characters and the Rule of Thirds. What is the rule of thirds in photography composition (how to use it). One reason why the eyes are an important factor to see is because, "It’s how we communicate, so it’s also how we read photographs." (Jane Allan). Jane Allan also goes on to provide questions you should ask yourself when using the Rule of Thirds, so you are left content with the product you have created.
