After reading chapter 6, I reflected on colors in lighting. Lighting/colors is one of the most interesting things for me in film because it determines the aesthetic and emotional pull of the film. The book explains how different lighting colors can produce different emotions or mean different things. You can use the colors you want in film with more than the wardrobe or set. This chapter explains how you can use gels over the lights or filters to get the specific color palette you want. The link below goes more in depth into that idea.

In the video, the narrator states that the color is more than just visual decoration, but a cinematic language of its own. For example, a red room isn’t simply, just a red room. However, a red room displays tension and danger. Additionally, in the Matrix, there is a green color palette throughout the film. This cool color brings a cold and artificial feel to the movie, revealing to the audience that the world isn't a real one. While the real world displays more blush and blue tones, to let the audience know the difference in both. Color used intentionally, and in the right way can tell the audience how to feel before the story does. This is because there is a psychological response people have for certain colors. It is important as a film maker to know how these colors work and choose wisely for each scene or story in order to convey the message properly.
