Kiera_Chapter3
After reading chapter 3, an idea that I found very interesting was how ensuring the characters' eyes are seen in order to allow the audience to form an emotional connection to them. I didn't realize how significant seeing the character's eyes were until reading about this, and it makes complete sense! I liked the example that the author included in the book about this: Darth Vader in The Return of the Jedi. Darth Vader had no sympathy and was a cruel character, but as soon as we saw his eyes, it changed everything. I like that this technique can be used for creating connections between audience and characters, but that it can also prevent a certain character from letting the audience in.
