Brock_Chapter3

A key idea from this chapter that stuck out to me was the idea that each decision you make will carry emotional weight. Film making is not just about recording with a camera, it’s about creating an experience that speaks to the audience. This could be something as simple as a camera angle. Every little detail plays a key role in giving the viewers a sense of emotion, which is exactly what you want to do to make them get more into whatever it is they are watching. As the person behind the camera, you have to recognize the importance of every single detail you decide to include. The power is in your hands, and you have to paint the picture you want to create.

This is good insight that goes more in depth on the idea of details driving emotion. Phil talks about how every choice you make stems from an emotional truth and does a great job explaining his thinking process.
